We are saddened with the passing of Rudi Kovanic who was a founding Director of the Foundation when it formed in 2003 and later became an Honorary Director until his death in 2025. He was a film maker of the 1993 Gemini award winning film Island of Whales  by our predecessor West Coast Whale Research Foundation.
